Job Description:
We seek a passionate and knowledgeable High School Information Technology (IT) Instructor to join our team. This individual will be responsible for teaching a wide range of courses to students in various New Jersey school districts to prepare them for immediate job experience or further education in the IT field. The ideal candidate will be a certified teacher or substitute teacher in NJ with a current teacher’s certificate, possessing a deep understanding of the IT industry and a dedication to student success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences in IT.
- Teach courses including, but not limited to, CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Introduction to Information Technology, Computer Science Fundamentals, Networking Basics, Network Systems Administration, Computer Hardware and Networking, and Data Communication and Networking.
- Develop curriculum and course material that meets learning objectives and prepares students for IT or further education careers.
- Assess students’ progress by providing timely feedback, conducting exams, and grading assignments.
- Stay updated with developments in the field of IT, instructional methodologies, and new technologies that can be used to enhance learning experiences.
- Collaborate with school administrators and other staff to fulfill students’ educational needs and goals.
- Participate in departmental and school meetings, parent meetings, and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
Current New Jersey teacher’s certification or substitute teacher certification.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Education, or a related field. Advanced degrees preferred.
- Relevant industry certifications such as CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Network+ are highly desirable.
- Proven experience as an instructor with a strong foundation in the subjects to be taught.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students.
- Commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
- Ability to travel to multiple school districts each day.
